i love you because you are you
you are a gentle force
a tender voice in my head
you calm my tired heart
heal the broken soul
with comforting words
familiar words of old

i love you because you are here
you have returned from the absence of ages
that i have searched for you
longed for the person that holds the missing piece
the piece that makes my life force whole
never to be broken
forever to be mended

if time will be kind to us
grant us the grace
of a moment when time to stop
allowing our hands again to touch
and our lips again to feel
the strength and passion
of a love that has surpassed
the challenges of the times

until then we patiently wait
for fate to play its hand
that soon we will be closer
moving forces and mountains
to fullfill a promise of love
